I went to Karen’s metal work class (Ten Seconds Studio) at Craft World, Glasgow, last night through awful icy snow conditions - but it was worth it. We made this giant 8 inch Christmas card. While we concentrated on the metal techniques (each piece individually embossed, sanded, cut and glued into the rectangle shapes), Karen prepared the card, poinsettias and swirls for us; otherwise we would have been there for the night - it took 3 hours of work for what should have been a 2 hour class: what fun!

OMGoodness! That is gorgeous! What did you use to color the metal like that in reds and greens?
I've heard of Ten Seconds Studio--but for tools you can also use on polymer clay. :)
The metal sheets are silver (aluminium) with different coloured coatings - in this case, red and green; after embossing by various techniques, sanding the raised surfaces lets the silver show through; the gold and silver sheets are different and are not sanded. My set of Walnut Hollow tools have now been used!
I have never seen anything so beautifully crafted, I'm sure the three hours you took just flew past. It's a work of art, Alice! H x
Thank you, it was a lot of fun to do.
So are each of those separate pieces of tin? Wow! I can't get over how intricate this is. :)
They are indeed individually embossed, sanded, cut, glued into the rectangles. Fun but gluey-messy.
Congrats on your patience, m'lady! It is truly beautiful and was worth the trip in the bad weather, that's for sure! Great job!! :)
THAT IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!
Every thing U do is beautiful ...
Thank you, Mary
