SECC Hobbycrafts for Christmas 2010

Posted by CraftyWhippet
Hi,
Alice and I headed off on Thursday to the craft show armed with our shopping list. I, like Alice, was engrossed in what Sheena Douglass was making but decided not to buy yet as I need to master more basic painting skills (like knowing one end of a paintbrush from the other). I was looking for pearlised card stock especially baby blue and baby pink as there seem to be a number of Christenings taking place at present.
how do I get to bed? lovely boxes
I also bought an embossing folder that cuts and embosses at the same time. You then use an ink pad to colour it. I bought the stamped sentiments that fit in the centre of the folder. Having bought my card stock it was a good excuse to get plastic storage boxes despite Alice telling me "you do NOT need these”. Oh no....... you think not. Considering the very same person went into ecstasy when she saw a storage box when we were out recently. I have never seen her so excited.
I restocked bits and bobs that I use on a regular basis. I also needed beads for my sister so had fun choosing them, posted them yesterday and she got them today. Well done Royal Mail.

I have to say I was tired yesterday but today is worse. Retail therapy is exhausting. Roll on October Hobbycraft when hopefully I will have recovered physically and financially.

I'll be curious as to what you think of the cutting and embossing folder. I've seen those and wonder how they work. Lots of goodies to play with and keep you in the crafting business--hehe! Exhausting, but what fun! :):)

It's a pity we didn't meet up, we went on the Thursday as you saw. Did you see my post about all my Sheena Douglass rubber stamps? I've started cutting them up ready for action, using StazOn Dove Grey - all I need is time...

The cutting/embossing folder gives a great result - then use Distress Inks and emboss - what a goody!

I used the embossing folder last night and plan to finish the card for tomorrow. I will put it on the blog and also into Just The Card as well. I like it very much and wish had bought two.If you are interested we might do a demo using the folder.
