Bute Craftathon: Day 1

Posted by Unknown
Hi Everyone,
As you can see from the video, we went by ferry to the Isle of Bute, arriving around five o clock. Ann, Jane, Jeanette, Morag and Jean had arrived the day before, so they were unpacked and settled. We had all taken our own bedding and towels so that Ann who was hosting our craftathon had no washing to do when we left.
Leaving Wemyss Bay
On the Sunday evening we made my first project, which was a simple scaled-down craftsUprint scalloped card with a pretty little girl. On completion, all 7 were photographed.
We then made Jeanette's first  project which was a windmill card. I had to have some assistance with the pinning of the windmill.  The square centre had to be punched in the top right hand corner,  twisted into the windmill shape before anchoring with a brad in the centre. That was the part I found tricky to hold together, so needed help.  Again 7 were photographed so that you can see our efforts.
We were firing on all cylinders. Two projects made by 10pm when we didn't officially start until Monday.... we were well pleased.
Rainbow Sunday
There were four of us sleeping upstairs. Jean went to bed (sensible lady). The three of us went into the kitchen and I thought it would be a great idea to prepare all the salad items and have them in boxes ready for the lunch the next day. By now the fridge was smelling of onions.  They don't call me the Organist for nothing you know!! Alice decided to go to bed and Jeanette and I thought as the night was young we would watch Create and Craft on TV. A while later there was a knock at the door "I can't sleep" says Alice "can I join you." There we were in our pyjams, when we felt hungry, so off we went to the kitchen to get some breakfast cereal. We still felt hungry so we made some toast as well. By this time it was 12.15am and we had been on the go all day. We were settled with yet another cup of tea, when I thought it would be helpful to prepare the potatoes (for 7) to save doing them in the  morning. It is 12.50am, was the cry. Potatoes in the pot, we finally decided that we had to go to bed to be ready for crafting in the morning.

To be continued..........

This is so cool to see the projects you all made! What fun to have all seven ladies together for crafting! And it was nice of everyone to bring towels and bedding so the hostess wasn't stuck with all that once you all flew the coop! LOL!

You were certainly hyped up and wanting to get a leg up on the next day. I'll be waiting to hear if you were tired or still raring to go the next morning! ;)
