Images of the Queen were projected on the walls of Scarborough North Yorkshire castle 22:15 BST to mark the Diamond Jubilee (computer mock-up)
Peter Bleach, from English Heritage, said "It's fantastic. The castle is 900 years old and it's a cracking piece of workmanship," he said. How wonderful that this magnificent old castle can be used like this in the 21st century. Its builders could never have conceived of anything like this".
A beacon was also lit at the castle at 22:00 BST, joining about 4,000 others across the UK.

Scarborough used to be a favourite holiday spot when my son was a child, hubby and I hope to go back there this summer to celebrate our 40th anniversary.

This must be covered all day over there. What fun! Exhausting for the queen, to be sure, but it must be fun to observe all the ceremony and hoopla. :)

She really looks good, doesn't she? Going to be a shock when she is finally gone. She's all I have ever known, either.
