The Queen lit the National Beacon near Buckingham Palace at 22:30 BST last night

Peter Bleach, from English Heritage, said "It's fantastic. The castle is 900 years old and it's a cracking piece of workmanship," he said. How wonderful that this magnificent old castle can be used like this in the 21st century. Its builders could never have conceived of anything like this".
A beacon was also lit at the castle at 22:00 BST, joining about 4,000 others across the UK.

14:20BST – Carriage Procession from Westminster Hall to Buckingham Palace commences

This must be covered all day over there. What fun! Exhausting for the queen, to be sure, but it must be fun to observe all the ceremony and hoopla. :)
She really looks good, doesn't she? Going to be a shock when she is finally gone. She's all I have ever known, either.
