21 Today, 21 Today…

happy_birthday_Ruth June 18th: Ruth reaches the venerable age of, ahem, 21 and finally catches up with me, after six months waiting for her bus pass... Her celebrations started on Wednesday as we had a lunch out instead of filming for YouTube.

I had her card ready of course – you know what it’s like giving a card to a crafter – yup, a nightmare, trying to find some style that’s slightly different from what they have already seen.  I used her favourite colours: black/white/silver, with a splash of shocking cerise pink.  Hehehehe, I had kept secret the refinement of the easel card that Jeanette had shown us.

This involved a Cuttlebugged border cut from around the easel part to lie flat over the base.  I made a single  pink insert which showed through the cut-out part then glued down the Cuttlebugged border after putting bradded Cricut flowers and a ribbon round it.  The stand-up easel part was matted and layered a few times using shapes cut from the Mandala board, with a foam-padded sentiment to keep it open.  Finally a music-Cuttlebugged, Cricut star went on the front.
easel 60thCraftyWhippet examined the card minutely, sussing out how it was all assembled – so no pressure there then! Would you like a video demonstration of how to cut and Cuttlebug it? Then here it is...

Yes! Absolutely, I would like a video demonstration of how to do the cuttlebugged frame card with the sliding easel. The card is wonderful! And what a fun blog you write. And your you tube is a hoot! as well as informative. Thank you.

Thank you DoriG that's reminded me that it would make a good choice for a YouTube video...
